Do I need to live in the Nottingham community to be a member?

No. While the club is open to members only, anyone may become a member. See our Members page for more information.

Do you offer a trial membership?

We will be offering an August trial membership that allows trial members to use the facility from August 1st until the close of the pool season.

Who is included in my membership?

Membership includes your immediate family. We consider your spouse/partner and your unmarried children under the age of 23 who live at home or attend school full-time to be your immediate family. It does not include adult children who do not live with you, grandparents or babysitters. See below for information about grandparents and babysitters.

May a grandparent or babysitter bring my children to the club?

You may designate up to two individuals as childcare providers. Childcare providers have full access to the club when providing childcare for an additional fee of $75 per provider per year. Providers must be at least 16 years old and may also be an extended family member (e.g. grandparent). Childcare providers must be with at least one of their sponsoring full equity member and the child care provider may not bring guests.

Can members bring guests?

Yes. Nottingham Swim Club full equity members are welcome to bring guests with them to enjoy the club. See our Guests page for restrictions and rules.

How old must my child be to visit the club by her/himself?

13, Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by a member or designated guest 16 years old or older who must be present at all times.

How do I know if the club is open?

While there are temporary pool closures due to thunder and/or lightning, the club rarely closes due to weather. In the event the club is closed due to weather or safety concerns a message will be posted on the club’s Facebook Page. Please do not call the club. The phone inside the club house is answered by on-duty lifeguards. It should only be used in an emergency. The club may open late or close early for scheduled swim meets and special events. Do we need to be members of the club to join the Nottingham Marlins Swim Team?

Yes. Swimmers on the the Nottingham Marlins Swim Team must be members of Nottingham Swim Club. See our Swim Team page for more information.

Do you offer swim lessons?

Nottingham Swim Club does not offer a formal swim lesson program. From time to time third parties do offer swim lessons at the club.

Can I reserve one or more tables at the pavilion?

Yes. In the clubhouse there is a sign up for the pavilion. Sign up is first come, first serve.

Can I sell or transfer my membership?

No. Equity Memberships may not be sold, assigned or transferred according to the by laws of the club.

How do I cancel my membership?

Members must provide written notice that they wish to resign their Equity Membership. You may email info@nottinghamswimclub.org.

What happens if I don’t pay my dues?

If we do not receive payment of your annual dues or written notice that you wish to resign your Equity Membership the Board of Directors will cancel your membership at the end of the season for non-payment and add your name to our Membership Contribution seller’s wait list.

When will I receive my bond back?

The repurchase (return) of your Membership Contribution (bond) is membership driven and subject to the Nottingham Swim Club bylaws. Once we receive written notice that you wish to resign your Equity Membership you will be placed on our Membership Contribution seller’s wait list.

What place am I on the Membership Contribution seller’s wait list?

The Membership Contribution seller’s wait list is updated at the end of each season after new Equity Memberships, Equity Membership resignations, and Equity Membership cancellations are known. We will provide an update regarding your place on the Membership Contribution seller’s wait list once per year, in the Fall, upon request.
