NOTTINGHAM SWIM CLUB RULES & REGULATIONS

General Rules and Regulations

  1. Membership shall include only those persons listed in Member Splash and will be allowed entrance per the by-laws of the swim club.  
  2. When entering the Swim Club, members must check in with a lifeguard or designee at the front desk. All members entering must be present at time of check in.  
  3. Lifeguards must be on duty and the pool officially open before any user is allowed in the water.
  4. All persons using the pool or pool area do so at their own risk and sole responsibility. All patrons agree to hold harmless the Nottingham Swim Club, its Board of Directors, Management of Nottingham Swim Club, and the employees of the Management company from any and all liabilities and/or action of any patron resulting from the use of the swimming pool or pool areas.
  5. The cost of any property damage will be charged to the responsible member or party.
  6. Management will not be responsible for loss of or damage to any personal property of any kind. Lost and found items will be discarded bi-weekly.
  7. The pool may be closed at any time due to mechanical breakdown, operational difficulties, inclement weather or special Club events. The decision is at the sole discretion of Management and the Board of Directors.
  8. The lap lane is for swimming laps only.
  9. Wearing proper bathing attire is required at all times. Street shoes, sneakers, “flip-flops”, cut-offs, walking shorts or indiscreet attire is not permitted in the pool.
  10. All radios must be kept at a low volume.
  11. No abusive/profane language or breach of the peace will be tolerated. There will be a zero tolerance policy regarding profanity, which will result in immediate ejection from the pool by Management.
  12. Wheeled vehicles, bicycles, motorbikes, skateboards and rollerblades are not permitted in the pool or pool deck area at any time.
  13. Baby strollers are not permitted within ten (10) feet of any pool. Persons needing special assistance to enter the pool are advised to ask the lifeguards.
  14. All beverages or food brought into the pool area must be in paper or plastic containers and be consumed in designated areas. No glass of any kind is permitted. All trash must be disposed of in the proper trash containers. 
  15. Chewing gum is not permitted in the pool or pool area at any time.
  16. Reserving chairs, lounges, tables, etc. is not permitted. Lounge chairs are to remain on the pool deck and are only to be used properly.
  17. Prolonged underwater swimming, breath-holding or games including such behavior is prohibited.
  18. There is no dunking, hanging or rough house play while playing at or near the basketball hoop. Only NSC provided basketballs can be used while playing basketball.
  19. All Yard Games require adult supervision. Please respect and keep the games and pieces in the respected area. Games are first come, first serve but please be mindful and considerate of others and share the time on the games.

Children

  1. Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a member or designated guest 16 years of age or older who is to be present at all times. If the child is in the lap pool, the guardian must be in the immediate vicinity of the child. The child’s guardian is responsible for the child’s conduct.
  2. Children may not be in water over their head at any time unless they are able to swim the length of the pool without assistance.
  3. Infants and children wearing diapers or who are not toilet trained are  not permitted in the lap pool, but must wear tight fitting swim diapers/rubber pants while in the activities pool (with mushroom) and the wading pool (small round pool). Entry into the pool may be denied if swim diapers/rubber pants are not leak proof. In the event of fecal contamination, the pool will be closed in accordance with Health Department regulations. 
  4. The guardian must closely watch children at all times and must accompany a non-swimmer in the water at all times. The guardian will be responsible for the safety of their children when they are using the pool facilities. 
  5. Guardians of children must remove all toys and debris of any type upon request of Management.

Guest Policy (Applies to Full Equity Members only)

  1. Guest Fees are $5.00 per person per day (children under 2 years of age are free).  Credits are available for purchase through Member Splash or may be paid upon entry via check or cash.
  2. Guests must sign in upon entering the pool facility with their sponsoring equity member.
  3. Guests must be accompanied by their equity member at all times. When the member leaves the pool, the guest must also leave.
  4. Each guest may use the pool a maximum of eight times per season.
  5. Club members will be held responsible for all actions of their guests. The cost of any property damage by a guest or member will be charged to the member.

Health Regulations

  1. All persons must shower before entering the pool.
  2. Expectorating, nose blowing, spouting of water and unhygienic acts are prohibited.
  3. Admission shall be refused to all persons having infectious disease, sore or inflamed eyes, colds, nasal or ear discharges, excessive sunburn, open sores or bandages of any kind.
  4. No pets are allowed in the pool area at any time.
  5. In the event of fecal contamination, the pool will be closed in accordance with Health Department regulations.

General Safety Regulations

  1. No glass of any kind is permitted on the Swim Club grounds. This includes a glass diving mask. 
  2. For the purpose of supporting non-swimmers, inner tubes, water wings, and all other flotation devices are not permitted at any time. For safety purposes, only a life vest approved by the United States Coast Guard is to be used. If a child uses such a life vest, a parent or guardian must accompany the child in the water at all times.
  3. Soft sponge balls will be allowed if utilized in a safe manner and at Management’s discretion. High power water guns are not permitted. 
  4. Running, pushing, wrestling or causing undue disturbance will not be permitted on the Swim Club grounds or in the pool. 
  5. All personal injuries must be reported to Management.
  6. Diving, back diving and/ or flips are strictly prohibited.
  7. Absolutely no smoking of any type is allowed on pool property. This includes vapes and e-cigarettes and chewing tobacco.  

Activities Pool (with Mushroom) Regulations

The activities pool is intended for the use and enjoyment of younger children and their parents. 

  1. Running, pushing, wrestling or causing undue disturbance will not be tolerated. Older children who act inappropriately or jeopardize the safety of infants and toddlers will be permanently ejected from this area. No exceptions.
  2. All children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by and supervised by a guardian 16 years of age or older who is to be present at all times.
  3. Play toys are permitted in the activity pool only with adult supervision and at the discrepancy of Management.

Responsibilities

  1. All persons included on the membership and their guests agree to abide by the regulations listed and any additional rules posted and administered by the Management. They further agree to accept the penalties for infraction of those rules and regulations.
  2. Members and their guests agree to allow the Management to assign and enforce appropriate discipline for any rule infraction.
  3. Members and their guests agree to be responsible for the cost of all medical expenses incurred for injuries sustained while using the facilities of the Swim Club.  Members and their guests assume the sole responsibility of any first aid treatment sought and received from the Swim Club including, but not limited to, allergic reaction to first aid remedies rendered. We request that you bring your medicine or allergic reaction kits with you to the Swim Club for bee stings, etc.
  4. Members agree to be personally responsible for all personal items.

Penalties

  1. The Swim Club reserves the right to rescind membership for major or continued rule infraction at any time with no refund of annual dues.
  2. Penalties for unsafe conduct (to self and others), destruction of property, littering, unpaid or unregistered guests and resisting authority will be in accordance with severity and repetitiveness of the acts.
  3. There will be a $25.00 fee charged for any returned checks.
  4. Misrepresentation of family members or misuse of the membership, will result in the termination of Nottingham Swim Club membership without refund of annual dues.

All persons use this facility at their own risk and in accordance with all  rules and regulations. Individuals may be barred from the pool or pool area at the discretion of Management for violation of said rules or for any other reason which in his/her judgement constitutes a hazard to others or to the Management. The Management is responsible for the strict enforcement of the rules and has authorization to temporarily deprive any member or guest entry to the pool or pool area. A Discipline Report is to be filed with Management if such action is taken. The Swim Club Board of Directors and Management reserve the right to change the rules and regulations without prior notice to members. By paying your annual dues, members are agreeing to all of the rules and regulations listed above of the Nottingham Swim Club.
